President Trump's executive order reducing Bears Ears and Grand Staircase national monuments by approximately 90% marks the fourth time in four administrations that executive action has dramatically altered Utah's monument designations. This repeated partisan flip-flopping creates uncertainty for tribal nations and communities. I believe Congress should explore creating national parks as a more stable, enduring solution for land protection.
I find the question absurd, not because of the valid concern presented, but that we even have to ask. Congress has wrongly become a place where such questions are not unusual.
