Yesterday, a New Mexico jury determined that Meta – owner of Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp – knowingly harmed our kids’ mental health and hid what it knew about child sexual exploitation on its platforms.

This is a victory for families and children nationwide. Like many of you, I am tired of watching Big Tech prioritize profits over protecting our rising generation – the most precious asset we have.

Nationwide, we are waking up to the harm that Big Tech is causing our kids. Over 40 attorneys general have filed lawsuits against Meta claiming it is deliberately designed for addiction, trapping our young people in a mental health crisis.

I applaud Utah Attorney General Derek Brown for being such a strong advocate in protecting our kids right here at home. I will continue that fight in Congress and curb social media’s destructive influence on our kids and our culture.
